About the Artist and Commissions

The story

I am a life-long artist who has been creating and selling art from my home studio for many years. During the pandemic, we relocated to the County after many years of visiting and I set up my art studio in our tiny home on the Black River.  I was captivated by the richness of the river and how it supports such rich agriculture and many birds and animals.  The river has a serene beauty and sense of bounty. I am facetiously calling this my “River Period”, reflecting the serenity of those surroundings in my art.

Evolving Perspectives

Our journey in the County deepened in 2025 we relocated by moving further south and east.   The terrain is rougher, less forgiving, formed by limestone cliffs and ample cedars. There are fewer people and our company is often birds of pray and early evening coyote calls.  The wind is ever present as is the crash of the waves on the Lake. The South Shore is showing us its more rugged face, a stark natural beauty that I am so happy to experience. My art is evolving to reflect this dimension of our County surroundings.

The Studio is open....

My work is mostly based on Acrylics on canvas, but I also like to paint first with oil as the foundation and then layer on acrylic, since acrylics are much more spontaneous and brings the moment to life, allowing the brush strokes to evoke that dynamism and vitality.

Please join me at the Studio for an opportunity to flip through recent works on canvas, talk about a custom piece or by appointment to stroll through the Gallery/house, to see works mounted on the walls.
